High Holiday Food Drive and Tzedakah

The Prophet Isaiah teaches, “This is the fast I desire...it is to share your bread with the hungry.” Congregation Shaare Emeth will collect nutritious canned or non-perishable foods during the High Holidays. Supplies will be split between the St. Louis Area Food Bank and the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry.

Monetary donations are also welcome in cash or checks payable to “Shaare Emeth Food Drive,” A portion of the monetary donations will be allocated to the organization Mazon, A Jewish Response to Hunger.

Donations can be brought with you when you come for services during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, or Monday – Friday, September 15-26. If you plan to attend worship services virtually, you may also drop off donations during prayerbook pick-up times.
